A bit about us and our background: In May of 2014, our founder traveled to Atlanta, Georgia on a weekend trip for a little relaxation and fun with her cousins. Much to her surprise her next assignment would be awaiting a couple blocks from where there the group was spending the weekend. That Saturday night while returning to the hotel from a night of food, fun,and dancing and enjoying memories her heart was dismayed by what they saw on Peachtree St. There was a multitude of homeless people; mostly African Americans of various ages flooding the block. She found the scene alarming and it had a profound impact on her emotionally. Upon returning home to Charlotte she began to constantly think about what she'd seen and how we can play a role in transforming the lives of others.
I got my skills from researching and I started to volunteer with local organizations that serve the homeless community in Charlotte,NC. I have been a healthcare worker for almost 25 years and many of the skills are transferable. I have a Bachelors Degree In Sociology with A Concentration in Social Problems and Policies.
